the problem

More than 2 billion people have no access to clean water, but see in front of them the vast ocean with tons of water that is not drinkable. The water available to them is polluted by sewage and lack of sanitary facilities, with the result that diseases can be spread more easily.

  • 2 100 000 000 people do not have access to clean drinking water
  • 80% of the wastewater is returned to the environment without being treated
  • 4 500 children die every day from polluted water

Our project adresses the following Sustainable Development Goals :

Looking for a solution

During our trip to Nuevo Ayacucho, Peru in October 2021, we were able to gain valuable insights. With proximity to the sea and great water scarcity, this place reflects exactly our described problem. To support these people, we are now using our knowledge of market conditions to find the best solution for our local partners in an innovation phase. The goal is to install a central water purification system on site to supply the almost 2000 people with clean water. In our current work, we think openly and honestly about the possibility of whether and how such a project could be useful or not.
